Above: Many men were crowded in the factories that they worked in. They worked long hours in little spaces doing on continous thing all day.

Left: Many of the factories that were built in America were large and bulky. Many of the factories had railroads next to them, or water that was used for transporting and recieving raw materialsand produced products.

Right: Men working on cars, using what was called an assembly line. Men would be lined up working on the cars as they slowly moved down the line. At the start, cars would be little parts and peices, and at the end of the line, and brand new, polished car would be ready to drive.

Below: Not only did men work in the factories, but as time passed, so did women. Here are women that are working on sewing, and making cloth. Women were able to work in factories, but  were considered very delicate. They were allowed to sit at a machine and work with their hands, using very little energy to produce their products.

Many women including single and married, came to these factories to participate in the daily struggle for money. Single women would work to feel the independence, knowing that they too were making money to support themselves or their loved ones.
